Stroke patients in Tipperary are being encouraged to join a series of free talks designed to support their recovery. Three webinars organised by the national stroke and heart charity, the Irish Heart Foundation, will focus on fatigue, trauma and personal experience.

The first of the online talks will take place today, which is World Stroke Day at noon, where stroke survivor Dermot Berry will share his personal journey on recovery following a spinal stroke in 2018. On Wednesday (11am), Gary Broderick, from the Learning Curve Institute, will share details of a Trauma Informed Practice and its significance on recovery. The final talk on Thursday (11.30am) is presented by Ciara Breen, an Occupational Therapist Manager in Galway University Hospital. Ms Breen will present on coping with fatigue from a heart condition or stroke. The Irish Heart Foundation is highlighting the benefits of physical activity for stroke and offers exercise through a number of support services.

Full details of these services and the free webinars can be found on the website irishheart.ie.
