Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath has raised concerns about the level of Fire Certification at Dundrum House Hotel. The Hotel complex is currently being used to accommodate refugees from Ukraine and since August some 70 asylum seekers.
Speaking in the Dáil yesterday the TD accused the Government of being reckless in using the accommodation without first verifying that all fire regulations were being observed. The TD says that Tipperary Fire Service is aware of some of the deficiencies and that the owner of the property has now contracted the services of a specialist company to address the outstanding issues.
Responding for the Government, Minister Heather Humphreys offered to have Minster Roderic O’Gorman, who is responsible for Integration, respond to Deputy Mc Grath. Ms Humphreys says she is unfamiliar with the details of the issues raised by the Tipperary Independent TD.
