Uisce Éireann Working To Lift Two Boil Water Notices In Co Tipperary

92

Uisce Éireann is continuing with works to lift two Boil Water Notices that are currently in place for customers supplied by both the Horse and Jockey Public Water Supply and the Carrick On Suir (Linguan) Public Water Supply. The notices were first issue on September 3rd and affect over 4,600 customers.

As a result, the Boil Water Notices remain in place for both supplies until further notice. The company says it is carrying out works to address the issues at both treatment plants to enable the lifting of the notice as quickly and as safely as possible. The company has not given details on the specific problem but it is understood that the raw water quality is so poor that it is interfering with the effectiveness of the treatment process prior to distribution.

Customers on both the Horse and Jockey and Carrick on Suir Linguan supply are advised to continue to boil their water before use until further notice. Customers are reminded that the water is safe to consume once boiled.
