Emergency Services Deal With Two Separate Road Collisions In Co. Tipp

Emergency services responded to two separate road collisions locally last evening. 

Drivers in the Newport area are advised that a section of the L2110 Newport to Silvermines Road at Garraunbeg, Killoscully is currently closed while Gardaí conduct a Technical Examination.

The examination follows a collision involving a van and a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 4:00pm yesterday.

The pedestrian, a female minor, was initially taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries.

She has since been transferred to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street, Dublin.

There were no other injuries reported. Gardaí are asking drivers in the Newport area to use the diversion routes and to allow extra time for their journey.

Gardaí in Nenagh are investigating the collision and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them by calling  067 50450.

A man aged in his 20s was hospitalised last evening after a two-vehicle road traffic collision near Cahir.

The collision involving a car and a tractor occurred on the R640 at Ballyhenebery shortly after 8:30pm.

The injured male was driving the car and is receiving care at Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel for what are thought to be non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other injuries reported.
