A Tipperary woman is a member of a team of 18 young people taking part in the 2024 World Skills event this week in France.
Kate Ryan, from Boherlahan, is studying at the world renowned Shannon College of Hotel Management and is taking part in the Restaurant Service category in Lyon.
1,500 competitors from more than 71 countries will demonstrate their skills across 62 different skills areas over the coming three days.
The Irish team will compete in a range of areas including Industrial Mechanics, Beauty Therapy, Restaurant Service and Cloud Computing. Ireland has been competing in the event since 1957 winning a total of 196 medals in that period.
