The contractor working on the N74 Road Project in Tipperary town says the project is on schedule.

Glas Civil Engineering have oversight of the project for Tipperary County Council and say that to date the Council have not had any issues with the project.

Traffic Management is being handled by signage, traffic lights and a diversion to implement a one-way system out of town on the Cashel Road.

Neil Casey, the community engagement person for the project says the contractor is monitoring the flow of traffic especially as it tries to join the N24 on the Bansha Road and says staff intervene if the backlog on the Knockanrawley Road becomes too large.

Three sets of Traffic lights at the junction of the N74 Cashel Road and the road to Knockanrawley will be required for at least one more week according to Mr Casey.

Works on installing underground piping for water, sewage, telecoms and electricity is ongoing with some of the new kerbing now installed in the section close to the Bansha Road Roundabout.

By the end of October it is hoped to switch to the other side of the N74 on the section between the Bansha Road roundabout and the Dundrum Road – the one-way system will be maintained for this work.

Full details of the project and updates are published on the website n74tipperarytown.ie and members of the public can join a WhatsApp Group for updates at 087 349 3645.
