Tipperary Racecourse is to host a Family Day on Sunday September 1st in conjunction with a flat racing card and concluding with a special race for members of the Scarteen Pony Club.
The annual Family Day is hugely popular with families as children enjoy free admission when accompanied by parents who will be required to pay an admission fee.
A large programme of attractions has been arranged for children on Sunday including a Pet Farm, Magic Show, Kid’s Disco, Face painting, a selfie mirror, art and gaming activities and a free goody bag for each child.
Racecourse manager Andrew Hogan says the racing will feature top performers such as Champion Trainer Aidan O’Brien and Champion Jockey Ryan Nolan in addition to horses trained by Henry De Bromhead.
Mr Hogan is grateful to local race sponsors such as Ballykisteen Hotel, Camus Stud Farm, Breen Farm Machinery and Rockwell College alongside two national sponsors Coolmore Stud Farm and The Irish Stud Farms for their continued support.
Gates open at 12.30pm with racing beginning at 2pm and the final race at 5.30pm will be followed by 10 pony club members taking on the challenge of the racetrack.
Tipperary Racecourse will be using reusable containers for all bar drinks on Sunday to move away from the waste and expense of plastic glasses.
The initiative is a collaboration between the Racecourse, MyWaste and Tipperary County Council.
