Nenagh Man Shot & Killed In Kanas After It’s Thought He Disturbed A Robbery

A Nenagh man has been shot and killed in Kansas as he is thought to have disturbed a robbery in progress close to his business premisesShaun Brady, aged 45 originally from Nenagh was working as the chef in his co-owned Brady & Fox Restaurant & Lounge.

Kansas City police officers responded to reports of a shooting on Wednesday evening and found Mr Brady with several gunshot injuries. Police and Emergency Medical Personnel responded and provided medical treatment before transporting the victim to a local hospital, where sadly he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told police that Mr Brady was taking out the rubbish from the kitchen when he saw a group of people who may have been trying to break into a car in the carpark. The Mayor of Kansas, Quinton Lucas, has offered his condolences and says he is heartbroken to learn of the death of Shaun Brady with whom he was acquainted. Mr Brady was well known in the Irish ex-pat community in Kansas city and regularly contributed to the local television station FOX4 and showcased Irish food to promote ‘Irish Fest’  – an annual Irish themed Festival.

The 45 year old father is reported to have met his American wife  Kate here in Ireland before moving to the United States – he completed his professional training at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
