Funding of €15,000 has been allocated to Tipperary Museum of Hidden History. The funding is intended to assist a major exhibition entitled ‘Visual Emotion: A Survey of 40 Years of Photography’ by professional and award-winning photographer John D Kelly. The exhibition is currently available to view and will run until October 26th. The exhibit is regularly updated as a number of the images are displayed via digital media.
The exhibition incorporates traditional methods of framing photographs, contemporary hanging arrangements, and industrial screens arranged on a large free-standing metal structure, highlighting John’s fluid movements within his sporting compositions.
Tipperary TD Michael Lowry has welcomed the funding as vital support acknowledging the importance of local and regional museums who provide a sense of community and place by celebrating collective heritage and offer a great way to learn about the history of the local area. The funding was part of a national allocation of €171,850 distributed under the Regional Museum Exhibitions Scheme 2024. The museum website is available at this link here.
