A man was mugged in Tipperary town on Wednesday night – August 7th. The man was walking on Blind Street after leaving St Michael’s street at approximately 10.30pm when he was attacked by two assailants. The man was struck on the head by a blunt instrument – possibly a piece of timber. The man fell to the ground due to the violence but is certain two males were involved in the attack. The thieves took the man’s phone, car keys and money – approximately €180. The man suffered two injuries to his head with a deep cut to his forehead over his eye and a deep graze on his cheek. The man did not require hospitalisation.
The local man says his car is secure but is hopeful that his car key and phone can be recovered as the criminals may have dumped them in the area. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy and has a blue cover – the victim is asking people to check if the phone and keys have possibly been dumped somewhere in the vicinity of the assault on the roadway that links St Michael’s street to Blind Street. The man has also reported the incident to Tipperary Garda Station. Anyone with any information can contact Tipperary Garda Station on 062 80670.
