HSE/South East Community Healthcare Urges People To Receive COVID-19 Spring Booster Dose

The HSE/South East Community Healthcare is urging eligible people in Tipperary to take advantage of the opportunity to receive their COVID-19 Spring booster dose.

The HSE says the booster doses help increase a persons antibodies and gives good protection from becoming seriously ill or needong to be hospitalised if you contract covid-19.

A booster is recommended to those over 80, those living in long twrm care facilities with older adults and individuals aged 5 or older with weakened immune systems.

People in their 70s can also request their vaccine after consulting with a healthcare provider such as their GP. 

The vaccine is free of charge and a clinic is open this Friday and next Friday (June 21st and 28th) between 11am and 3pm at the South Tipperary Vaccination Centre on the grounds of St Luke’s Hospital, Clonmel.
