A new awareness and training programme for Gardaí and Garda staff from across the Tipperary Division in respect of engaging with people with disabilities is being rolled out across the Division.
The programme is known as JAM (Just A Minute) and is designed for Police highlighting the special requirements Gardaí should consider when someone with a disability looks for assistance.
The aim is to help Gardaí to better understand the challenges these disabilities can bring and how better to assist people who seek help.
The JAM Card can also be used in retail/transport settings to enable a person with a disability to ask for assistance or more time for their transaction.
