Tipperary Manager Liam Cahill’s Ban Appeal Results To Be Announced

Tipperary GAA board expects to be informed of the outcome of it’s appeal in respect of Senior Hurling Team Manager Liam Cahill’s possible four-week suspension later this morning.

Officials from the Tipperary GAA Board and Liam Cahill travelled to Dublin last evening to present their case.  The proposed suspension issued by the GAA’s Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) is in respect of a red card shown to Mr Cahill in the dying moments of last Sunday’s Championship clash with Limerick at Semple Stadium. Mr Cahill had argued that a line ball was awarded to Limerick in error.

Tipperary GAA Board is anxious to have the suspension reduced to ensure that the manager can be with the team for the next match with Waterford on May 28th and especially a Munster Final on June 11th should Tipperary qualify.

The top three positions in Munster will be clarified on Sunday after Tipperary play Waterford and Limerick play Cork. The top two will play in the Munster final and progress to the All-Ireland series while the third placed team in Munster has a guaranteed place in a preliminary quarter final of the All-Ireland series.
