Thousands of primary school children will head to Mary Immaculate College in Limerick for EBS SCIENCE BLAST,   a three day event, starting on Tuesday, 23rd May.

ESB Science Blast, delivered by the Royal Dublin Society, is a STEM-focused education programme involving whole classes investigating the science behind a simple question, such as ” What would happen if all the trees in the world were cut down?”.

Students from several Tipperary Schools are participating in the event.

Investigations being carried out by primary school students in Tipperary include:

The Monastery School, Tipperary Town, Co. Tipperary: Can we grow vegetables in our school without the use of soil?

Knockavilla National School, Dundrum, Co. Tipperary: Why has a wind turbine just three blades?

Loughmore National School, Templemore, Co. Tipperary: How do sensory toys help regulate humans?

The event encourages critical thinking and collaboration. Classes showcase their work at the event and will be paired with a STEM expert who will guide the class in their investigation and share positive feedback.
