Local Success At Good Food Ireland Awards

There was local success at the Good Food Ireland Awards presented at the K Club yesterday.
Mikey Ryan’s Bar and Kitchen in Cashel was awarded the Pub of the Year title while Con Traas from the Apple Farm in Cahir was awarded Food Producer of the Year.
Other Tipperary nominees included Prime 74 in the Restaurant of the Year category, Country Choice Nenagh as the Shop of the Year, Crossogue Preserves Holycross in the Jam and Savoury producer category.
Seamus Redmond accepted the award on behalf of Mikey Ryans – the pub is linked to the Cashel Palace Hotel.  Mr Redmond, from county Wexford, is the Online Manager at Cashel Palace and Mikey Ryan’s Bar and Kitchen.
This is the first time that the Good Food Ireland Awards were held since the pandemic. Simon Coveney, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment opened the event which was attended by some 300 guests including business owners, Irish and international chefs, buyers, food and drink writers, media and industry leaders.
The awards are sponsored by Kerrygold, Irish Farmers Association, Tourism Ireland, Bord Bia and the National Dairy Council.
