Three Tipperary nominations are shortlisted for the Local Authorities Members Association (LAMA ) awards to be presented in Clonmel on Saturday night.  The nominations include Ms Jean Nelson from Tipperary Town, nominated in the community volunteer category. Ms Nelson is currently the chairperson of Tipperary Residents Network and is being recognised for her contribution to community life in Tipperary town over the last 25 years.
The awards ceremony is organised by LAMA, a representative body for councillors across the country. The current chairperson is local Cllr Micheal Anglim from Ardfinnan who requested that the awards ceremony be held in Tipperary this year rather than in Dublin.   There are a total of 21 individual awards and 4 overall awards to be presented on the night.  The other Tipperary nominations are The Suir Blueway for the Best Trail in Ireland and the River Suir Project for the Best Environmental Project.
