A strategy to deliver development across county Tipperary is to be devised by the Tipperary Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) in partnership with South Tipperary Development Company (STDC) and North Tipperary Development Company (NTDC).

Tipperary has been allocated €7.8M euros for the next LEADER plan to be delivered between 2023 and 2027.

LEADER is to be a locally-led, bottom-up, approach to meeting the needs of rural communities and businesses.

The programme supports private enterprises and community groups in rural areas and plays an important role in progressing job creation, social inclusion and environmental projects at local level.

A meeting is to be held in Tipperary town at the Knockanrawley Resource Centre tonight to gather public priorities – there will also be a meeting at the Abbey Court Hotel Nenagh tonight.

Tomorrow night a meeting is planned for the Templemore Arms Hotel while the final in person meeting will be held in Clonmel on Monday April 3rd at the Talbot Hotel  – all of the meetings are scheduled for 7.30pm and the public are encouraged to contribute to the new programme priorities.
