Tipperary Projects To Receive Funding Through Built Heritage Investment Scheme

Twenty-six projects across county Tipperary are to benefit from funding of almost €147, 500 allocated under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme.  

Three projects involving thatched roofs are to share funding of €21,377 – these projects are in Cahir, Clogheen and Ballycommon.  The largest sums awarded are €11,000 each for projects in Cahir, Borrisokane and Killenaule.  The 1798 Monument in Liberty Square Thurles is allocated €9,600 for cleaning and repairs – the monument sits in the centre of the revamped Liberty Square. 

€9,000 is awarded to the St John the Baptist Church in Clonoulty for repairs to the Bell Tower while St Mary’s Church in Thurles is allocated €7,000 for measures to conserve and protect windows. Full details of all the projects funded are available here.
