320 Ukrainian Children Are Enrolled In Co. Tipp Schools


Schools in County Tipperary have enrolled 320 Ukrainian children as of March 1st this year.

The Department of Education has released an update on the number of Ukrainian pupils enrolled in schools across Ireland. As of the first of March there are 14,931 students from Ukraine enrolled. Primary schools have enrolled 9,650 of these pupils while 5,281 pupils have enrolled in post-primary schools.   Current data indicates an enrolment rate of 91% among Ukrainian children aged 5-18.

Across county Tipperary 195 of the children are in Primary schools and 125 in secondary schools.  The children and their families are supported by education and language support  teams enabled by the Tipperary Education and Training Board.
