Cllr John Crosse says the N24 road project to include a By Pass of Tipperary Town is a game changer and there is no doubt about funding for the project.

Calling for faith in the future of Tipperary town Cllr Crosse expressed optimism that work on the road might be commenced in 3-4 years and completed in 7-8 years.

A new Business Park for Tipperary town is on the cards with a planning application expected in a few weeks according to Cllr Crosse. In addition, the Digital Hub at the Technology Park and the proposed Education facility at Dan Breen House could help to bring prosperity to the town.

Groups working in the town were complimented by the Councillor who defended the Government policy on vacancy – saying that there were funds available to tackle vacant properties in the town – highlighting the fund used to assist with redevelopments at the Irish House and the Glove Factory – some €163,000. Property owners were engaging with schemes such as Croi Conaithe to provide housing in towns and this would help with footfall leading to a more vibrant community according to the Fine Gael Councillor. However he did say that Central Government neglected the main streets of towns for too long but welcomed the fact that €100,000 is currently being allocated to property owners on the Main Street/Bank Place area for enhancement works under the new Streetscape Enhancement Scheme
