A Clonmel Teacher has been honoured with a President’s Award as part of Gaisce led by President Michael D Higgins. Anne Dooley, a teacher at Loreto Secondary school was presented with a President’s Award Leaders, in recognition of her work supporting young people to achieve their potential. President’s Award Leaders (PALs) are presented to those who have supported young people to take part in the Gaisce programme for more than five years.

The organisers say for many young people a Gaisce Award is often the first time they receive any recognition for their achievements. The programme aims to demonstrate the value society places upon the personal development and wellbeing of young people and their achievements, whilst also promoting Gaisce’s vision that young people have every opportunity to dream big and fulfil their potential.  The Award Ceremony took place at Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park, Dublin.
