Harty Cup Final To Be Held At Semple Stadium

The Munster GAA Council has selected Semple Stadium, Thurles as the venue for the Harty Cup final between Cashel Community School and Thurles CBS.

The game will now be played on Sunday February 5th at 1pm.

The match will also be streamed live on Munster GAA TV. Limerick man Eamonn Stapleton will referee the historic final.

This is the first time that two Tipperary schools have reached the final in the 106-year history of the competition for those aged U19 in secondary school.

Thurles CBS have won the cup 8 times – with the most recent victory in 2015  – Cashel Community School has yet to see it’s name on the trophy which is named after the former GAA patron Archbishop Dr. John Mary Harty who served as Archbishop of Cashel and Emly from 1913 until his death in 1946.
