Cllr Anglim Says Tipp Town Bypass Priority For TII

A bypass for Tipperary town is a priority for Transport Infrastructure Ireland according to Cllr Micheal Anglim.

The councillor recently attended the annual meeting with TII when each Municipal District in the county is afforded an opportunity to raise priority issues.

However, the options selection report for the Cahir towards Oola N24 upgrade which will give the precise route for the road is unlikely to be published before Christmas according to Councillor Anglim – the report was due in September 2022.

Works for pedestrian safety and traffic calming on the Bansha Road into Tipperary town will be undertaken in early 2023 by TII and a portion of the N24 road way outside the Apple Farm near Cahir will be resurfaced.

The councillor expressed disappointment with the TII response in respect of Knockagh roundabout as no immediate action is proposed.

Several vehicles have crashed into barriers at the roundabout and local councillors are calling for urgent works to be undertaken to identify the problem with the road surface.
