The organisation ALONE is urging older people in Tipperary to take extra care, keep themselves and their homes warm as low temperatures persist this week.
The public is also reminded to check in on older neighbours who may need assistance during these wintery conditions.
Older people are encouraged to be cautious of falls by limiting walking outdoors during icy conditions, wearing well fitted shoes, and ensuring that floors and ground surfaces in their homes are clear and free of trip hazards.
Seán Moynihan, CEO of ALONE says many older people are often hesitant to reach out but we want them to know that they should not be afraid to ask for support if needed.
Contact ALONE on 0818 222 024 seven days a week from 8am to 8pm, if you have concerns about your own wellbeing, or the wellbeing of an older person in the community.
