A part of West Tipperary experienced the lowest temperatures in the country overnight.
Carlow Weather is reporting that Limerick Junction recorded a -6.8c at midnight.
Tipperary remains under a ice and freezing fog warning until 12 noon today.
Met Eireann says patches of freezing fog along with icy conditions are expected which will cause potentially hazardous driving conditions.
