Two Arrested Into Theft Of Bag From Woman In Tipp Town

Garda have confirmed that two people have been identified and arrested in connection with the theft of a bag from a lady in the Market Yard in Tipperary town on Wednesday last.

The incident occurred shortly before 11am as the woman was returning to her car.

The victim’s shoulder bag, bank cards and phone were recovered shortly after the incident which left the woman, thought to be in her 70s, badly shaken as she fell to the ground when her bag was pulled from her shoulder by one of the assailants. 

The victim did not suffer serious injuries but reports two areas of her body that are bruised and tender.

The woman, understood to be from Cashel wishes to thank the person that found her bag and  those that immediately came to her aid and says she is in good spirits at home.

Gardaí in Tipperary Town are thanking the public for their assistance in helping bring this investigation to a swift conclusion.
