Conflicting Updates From Tipperary County Council On Measures To Protect Knocklofty House, Clonmel

292

It has emerged that Tipperary County Council has issued conflicting updates on measures to protect Knocklofty House, Clonmel.   In a response issued to Tipp Mid West Radio, on Tuesday December 6th,  the council stated that it has identified the threats to the property and continues to engage with the property owner. The council says that repairs have been made to the roof and that works to improve ventilation funded via a €10,000 Built Heritage Investment Grant are underway and will be inspected by the planning section when complete.

This conflicts with updates supplied to Tipperary  TD Martin Browne by the Minister for Heritage Malcolm Noonan and Tipperary County Council. The TD was informed that the owner did not proceed with the works and that the grant aid offer was withdrawn. Further clarification is being sought from Tipperary county Council on the matter
