Survey To Aid The Development Of A Community Energy Plan

342

Residents in the Tipperary town area are being asked to participate in a survey to aid the development of a Community Energy Plan for the town.  Tipperary Town Sustainable Energy Community(SEC) – a local voluntary committee is responsible for the project as part of the Energy Master Plan which is currently in development. The Energy Master Plan will help to identify energy usage in the area and in time could lead to an action plan for energy efficiency and energy independence. The project will also provide an economic stimulus to the community by reducing the transfer of funds out of the town purchasing energy and providing employment opportunities in the area of retrofitting of properties.  It is hoped that through this project, members of the community may decide to apply for grant funding from the SEAI to aid towards improving their homes, business and community assets.

The survey will be available on the Tipp Revitalisation website from Monday November 28th  and residents are encouraged to complete it by Christmas week. A paper survey form is available in the Task Force office on Bridge Street, Tipperary town. A survey for business operators will be available at a later date. All information gathered will be treated with strictest confidence and no identifying information will be included in the final report, to be launched in early/mid 2023.  ORS, building consultants, will deliver the project in collaboration with the Tipperary Revitalisation Taskforce.
