Tipp Students Receive Their Junior Cycle Results

Results for the more than 67,000 students who sat the Junior certificate exams in June will be released today.

Students will be given their results at their schools and will be able to access them online from 4pm.

The results are no longer issued in terms of letters instead grades ranging from; Distinction, Higher Merit, and Merit, to; Achieved, Partially Achieved, or Not Graded will be used.

Under the new format all subjects apart from Irish, English, and Mathematics are now examined at one Junior Cycle Common Level as opposed to Higher and Ordinary.

Students will be issue with a “Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement” instead of the old “Junior Certificate”, which is no longer issued by the SEC. Results can be appealed until November 30th.

The results are usually issued in September – the SEC says a shortage of examiners contributed to the delay in releasing the results. The exam was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
