Safety Concerns at a local road junction were raised in the Dáil today by Deputy Jackie Cahill.

The junction connects a local road to the N75 at Drish Bridge on the east side of Thurles.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland is to be asked to examine the layout at the junction which has seen a number of accidents.

The N75 links Thurles to the M8 Motorway and has a heavy volume of traffic with almost 4,800 vehicle movements daily.

Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has committed to raising this issue further with the Transport Minister Eamon Ryan.

Deputy Cahill also committed to having local councillors engage with Transport Infrastructure Ireland and the Roads Department of Tipperary County Council to seek a solution.
