The need for the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Simon Harris to provide an update on the proposed development of Kickham Barracks, Clonmel, as a dual campus of education between Tipperary Education and Training Board and the Technological University of the Shannon will be raised by Senator Garret Ahearn in the Seanad this morning.
It is one of the Commencement Matters selected by the Cathaoirleach for discussion from 10.30 am.
A major regeneration project is being developed in Clonmel involving the building and lands of the former Army Barrack which closed in 2012.
The project will include a civic plaza, new Garda station and education, sporting and cultural facilities.
