UHL Maternity Unit To Host Remembrance Service

305

University Maternity Hospital Limerick is to host an in person Remembrance Service on November 6th at 3pm.

The Service is for anyone bereaved through miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death.

The first in person event in since 2019 will be held at The Church of the Holy Rosary, Ennis Road, Limerick, on Sunday November 6th at 3pm.

Rita O’Brien, Clinical Midwife Specialist Bereavement and Loss, UMHL, says the service is as much for parents and families of babies who died many years ago, as for those more recently bereaved.

Infant loss and pregnancy loss can be a very lonely grief.

The annual event is intended to provide an opportunity for people to connect with one another as a community and share their experience of grief.

The annual event is organised by the Bereavement and Support Unit at UMHL and due to social distancing restrictions during the pandemic, the previous three services have been virtual only.

Fr Des McAuliffe will lead the service, which can also be viewed live on the parish website at the following link: https://www.ourladyoftherosaryparishlimerick.ie/web-cam/

The service will also be recorded and subsequently posted to the parish website.
