Macra is now the new name for Macra na Feirme. The rebranding of the organisation was officially launched by Maria Walsh MEP at the National Ploughing Championships held in Ratheniska last month.
With over 75 years of community engagement and 170 clubs nationwide, Macra has a longstanding and strong social network of over 250,000 people throughout Ireland.
The volunteer membership organization hosts local meet-ups and sporting activities and arranges social events and national policy discussions.
Macra focuses on members under the age of 35 and says as urban and rural communities change it needs to evolve to meet their needs.
