The publication date for the Option Selection Report in respect of the preferred route for the N24 Cahir towards Oola upgrade has been postponed.

The report had been expected by the end of this month.

Tipp Mid West Radio has now learned that the publication date has been pushed back to sometime in the final quarter of 2022.

The reason given for the delay is “internal work flows in the team.”

The Design team say the corridor for the road component of the Preferred Transport Solution presented as part of Public Display in May remains unchanged.

Work has now begun on Phase 3, Design and Environmental Evaluation of the preferred route.

The project team say they are working on the design of the overall preferred transport solution – which in addition to the road component may involve traffic demand management measures, public transport and active travel components.

A number of field surveys, including environmental, topographical and hydrographical surveys will be undertaken in the coming months within an area which includes, but is not limited to, the corridor for the road component for the Preferred Transport Solution.

This information is required for the design of the project and the environmental evaluation.
