A number of local bus routes are cancelled today.
Commuters from Carrick-On-Suir, Kilsheelan, Clonmel, Cahir, Bansha, Tipperary Town, Limerick Junction, Monard, Oola, Pallas and Dromkeen.
The impacted routes are Bus Eireann Route 55 – 10:45: Waterford – Limerick, Route 55 – 16:25: Limerick – Waterford, Route 355 – 07:40: Clonmel – Waterford, Route 355 – 09:40: Waterford – Cahir, Route 355 – 11:30: Cahir – Waterford, Route 355 – 13:40: Waterford – Clonmel, Route 355 – 14:50: Clonmel – Waterford, Route 355 – 16:10: Waterford – Clonmel, Route 132 – 17:50: Gorey – Dublin, Route 132 – 21:00: Dublin – Gorey
Bus Eireann provided no explanation for the cancellation which was issued yesterday evening on social media.
However the Irish Examiner reported recently that the company had to cancel 2.5 percent of its routes in one week, due to staff shortages at the time the company issued the following statement saying “Reasons for cancellations vary by location, including recruitment, driver availability often at short notice and more difficulty in hiring private contractors to support services where required,”.
