Irish Water is working with Tipperary County Council to restore water to customers supplied by the Ahenny Water Treatment Plant following a mechanical fault at a pumping station.

The company says every effort is being made to maintain supply to all customers some may experience temporary, intermittent low pressure and/or water outages in Ahenny and surrounding areas.   It’s expected that repairs will be complete by 6pm this evening.

Irish water is also responding to a Pump failure that may cause supply disruptions to Boherlahan, Cashel and surrounding areas in Co. Tipperary.

Works are now scheduled to take place until 6:30pm on 15 August.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Irish Water receive direct communications from IW for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

The Irish Water customer care helpline is open 24/7 and can be contacted on 1800 278 278 .
