478 admitted patients are waiting for beds in the nation’s hospitals  according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch Report. 406 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 72 admitted patients have been accommodated in some ward of the hospital by adding extra beds. University Hospital Limerick has reported 50 admitted patients receiving care on trolleys and a further 20 patients are accommodated in some ward of the hospital.

There are 2 patients receiving care while on a trolley in STGH.

Speaking earlier today on TMWR Deputy Jackie Cahill called on the HSE to focus on recruiting and retaining staff.

The injury units located in Nenagh Hospital and in Cashel at the former Our Lady’s hospital had been disrupted last week due to a lack of adequate staff.

Both units are functioning this week.
