The Chief Executive Officer of the HSE is acknowledging the challenges facing health services in the mid-west.

Paul Reid visited a number of key stakeholders yesterday to learn about actions to improve health outcomes and relieve overcrowding in University Hospital Limerick.

An important element of the visit is to acknowledge and thank staff for their work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Reid says everyone in the health service is committed to driving change and addresses the issues.

However an Tipperary Independent councillor Séamie Morris says he’s disappointed that Paul Reid didn’t take the opportunity to apologise to the people of the Mid West over the horrific Emergency Services inflicted on people since our 24 hour Emergency department were reconfigured.
