Charlie Bird, former RTE News Reporter,  has announced that a book of photographs to celebrate the Climb with Charlie fundraiser on April 2nd is now available.

All royalties from the book will be shared between two charities that were chosen to be the beneficiaries of the climb  – namely Pieta House and the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The climb focused on Croagh Patrick in county Mayo but communities all over Ireland and abroad arranged special events in association with the Climb with Charlie campaign and these are now recorded in the book.

To date  €3.25  million euros has been raised by the event.

The book will be distributed through all good bookstores and Dunnes stores – Mr Bird has thanked the publisher Merrion Press for their assistance.

Mr Bird has thanked the public for their generous inspiring support.

He also has plans for a parachute jump with former footballer Mick McCarthy if a sponsor can be secured.

Mr Bird announced last October that he had developed Motor Neurone Disease, after experiencing problems with his voice.
