Almost €19,000 Secured For Flood Relief Works In Cappamore

Funds of €18,900 have been secured for flood relief works at Portnard, Cappamore.

The Office of Public works has approved an application from  Limerick Council  under the Office of Public Works’ Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme.

The proposed works include laying 80m of drainage pipe, carrying out one road crossing, the installation of six gullies and sumps, two manholes and chambers and re-profiling of existing entrance at Portnard, Cappamore, Co. Limerick.

The Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme was introduced by the Office of Public Works in 2009.

The scheme generally applies where a solution can be readily identified and achieved in a short time frame.
