41 Co. Tipp Groups Allocated Grants By Age & Opportunity

Age & Opportunity has allocated grants for 41 Tipperary groups to promote physical activity in older people.

The groups will share  €19,535 to fund physical activity for older people Nationwide 995 groups will receive grants totalling €514,120.

The National Grant Scheme provides a valuable resource in getting older people more active.

The funding is targeted at older people, irrespective of background, culture, identity, setting or location and includes active retirement groups, nursing homes,  day care centres, Irish Countrywomen’s Associations, sports clubs and Local Sports Partnerships.

Walking, weight lifting, night kayaking, dancing, rowing, yoga, orienteering, swimming, cycling, kurling and bowling are just some of the activities the grant will fund.
