Canon Hayes Will Put Out Tender For Upgrade Design Soon

The Canon Hayes Recreation centre, Tipperary town will shortly put out a tender call in respect of a design of an upgrade at the facility.

The present building was designed in 1984. Chairperson  of the Centre, John McCahill says funding to implement the designs would then be sought from a variety of available funding schemes.

Funding for the design works was provided by Tipperary County Council.

Energy costs are a burden and a retrofit will be considered as part of the upgrade plans.

The centre was recently approved for funding under the Community Services programme which will support two full time positions.

The centre is also hosting a sports hub co-ordinator in collaboration with the Tipperary Sports partnership in a plan to boost physical activities and social inclusion.

A physical link between the CHRC and the Sean Treacy Swimming pool is likely to be restored in the coming weeks offering those using the facilities a wider range of benefits.
