The HSE has issued a statement in response to a query submitted by TMWR in respect of the operation of the Minor Injury Unit in Cashel.
TMWR had sought details as to the volume of patients seen at the facility – this information has not been supplied to date.
Today the HSE states that it remains committed to the operation of the facility.
The HSE statement confirms that medical cover, which is necessary for the full operation of the Minor Injuries Unit in Cashel, is available on site today and yesterday.
It will also be in place next Thursday 26th and 27th May.
The unit which has two nurses and admin staff will not be open on Monday to Wednesday next week as no doctor is available.
In the meantime, the HSE/South East Community Healthcare is actively working to establish the Medical cover required to ensure the full, five day week operation of the Unit. The Minor Injury unit in Cashel can be contacted at 062 70400.
