Tipperary will face Carlow in the Tailteann Cup –  a new competition for Senior football to be run  this year.

Carlow will have home advantage for the match.

As Tipperary Senior Footballers lost to Limerick in the Munster Senior Football semi final over the weekend they are now included in the southern group for the new competition.

Tipperary Senior Hurlers will face a last chance to qualify as the third team from Munster for the Liam McCarthy Cup when they face Cork on Sunday in Thurles.

They would also need some other results to go their way and would have to secure a large margin of victory to over come Waterford and Cork on score difference in the Munster championship table.

Limerick and Clare are guaranteed to finish as the top two in Munster and will now play in the Munster Senior Hurling Final.
