Tipp Town Major Housing Development Appeal Rejected

1033

A major housing development in Tipperary Town has had its appeal to An Bord Pleanala rejected.

The application for planning permission for a childcare facility and 84  two storey dwellings was refused initially by Tipperary County Council as the application was within the study area for the proposed N24 Road project.

This decision was made on April 30th last year. The developer Kingcroft Limited filed an appeal to An Bord Pleanala.

In a ruling issued on March 12th ABP upheld the decision of Tipperary County Council.

In addition it also finds that the proposed road layout within the development would be contrary to proper development of the area due to the excessive use of cul de sacs.

Each of the proposed dwelling units was to feature roof mounted PV solar panels on a site of approximately 3.9 hectares at Brodeen.
