The Minister for Transport is to allocate 3 million euro to complete the N24 route selection works.

According to Fianna Fail’s Jackie Cahill this funding has been secured from within the existing TII budget

It follows concerns from locals after it was discovered at the South East First Citizen Citizen Meeting, which Cllr Marie Murphy had attend as Cathaoirleach that the route selection process was to be abandoned due to lack of funding.

Deputy Cahill says he’s been pressing Government colleagues hard to see this decision reversed and the funding found to complete this stage of planning for the N24 Cahir to Waterford road.

Mr Cahill says many people along the three proposed routes had been left in limbo as a result of a failure to complete this stage of works.

Finally the Tipperary TD believes this funding today, will ensured that planning permission for the development and building of houses, businesses or farm buildings will not be barred indefinitely along the three potential routes, with the final route being selected in the near future.
