New Centre Of Excellence For Tipp Camogie To Be Established

A new dedicated centre of excellence for Tipperary Camogie is to be established in collaboration with St Joseph’s College in Borrisoleigh.

Funding of €245,000 was secured via the Sports Capital Grant Program.

This will see the development of a floodlit AstroTurf pitch, 80m x 30 m,  a 60m ball wall,  a full gym and an upgrading of the current changing rooms. 

The new facility which will be shared with the school students is located just 4km from Tipperary Camogie’s county grounds in the Ragg, at Bouladuff.

To further enhance the efforts to win the O’Duffy Cup Tipperary Camogie County Board is to have a new main Sponsor  – Apha Drives, a Portlaoise based company.

Alpha Drives Ltd. supplies products from Siemens such as motors, variable speed drives, low voltage switchgear and  automation software.

A new partnership is also planned with Setanta College which is based in the Thurles campus of TUS. Setanta College, which specialises in high level performance will design and oversee development programmes for players from Under 14 to Senior level.
