The St Patrick’s Day parade in Tipp Town will not return this year however there will be a virtual parade.
Tipperary Chamber of Commerce CLG says the decision is being made in the interests of public health and safety and the short time frame to organise a parade is another reason.
The committee says their aware that the St Patrick’s Festival is one of the civic and tourist highlights of the year in town, however public health and safety have to be paramount.
The Chamber says we would like to apologise to all the clubs, community groups and organisations, bands and street theatre entertainers and businesses affected by this decision .
People are being asked instead to send in their old or new photos, little videos that we can use in the virtual parade video.
The committee is also encouraging all businesses in town to paint the town Green ahead of the big day.
They state they’ll be back bigger and better in 2023 with a parade.
