1,827 people in Co. Tipperary received the Pandemic Unemployment Payment this week up from 1,510 last week.
Nationally 75,648 people received their Pandemic Unemployment Payment for first week in January, this represents an increase of 8,743 compared to the previous week.
These figures are in addition to the 164,626 people who were on the Live Register at the end of November.
The payment is for those who have lost their jobs as a result of the covid restriction measure. The rate of payment ranges from €350 to €150 per week and is determined by the person’s usual weekly earnings.
Meanwhile 854 people in Premier county were medically certified in the week to Jan 6th for receipt of a Covid – 19 related Illness Benefit payment.
