An Independent TD says he’s shocked and disappointed that funding wasn’t allocate for the Tipp Town Rural regeneration project.
Michael Lowry says it’s vital that the work of the Task Force is underpinned with financial support otherwise it risks losing the confidence and trust of local community groups and people of the town.
The Thurles deputy revealed that the project did not pass the assessment to enable it to reach Minister Heather Humphreys’ desk for approval. The application did not meet certain essential criteria.
He says it is regrettable that officials did not directly raise concerns with the Task Force in advance of the decision.
